About the Artist
Hannah Weck is a painter, sculptor and mixed media artist, whose work explores the relationship between humans and nature, issues of self-perception and identity, and cycles of change and transformation.
Raised in Columbia, Illinois, she and her siblings were homeschooled by their ceramicist mother and biologist father. In addition to the more traditional aspects of her education, she grew up helping with the family garden, milking goats, exploring the nearby nature preserve, learning the proper way to hold a snake or frog, and learning the foundations of art.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting and drawing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and an Associate of Arts from Southwestern Illinois College. In the spring of 2025, she spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy.
Hannah’s paintings and drawings have been exhibited in various juried exhibitions in the region, including the St. Louis Artist Guild in St. Louis, Missouri, The Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana, and the Wood River Museum in Wood River, Illinois.
